Assam peasant leader Akhil Gogoi tests positive for COVID-19: Reports
Assam peasant leader and Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
Gogoi, who is languishing in Guwahati Central Jail for his role in the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) agitation across the state, underwent swab test and was exhibiting some of the signs of the COVID-19 virus during the last couple of days. Total COVID-19 cases soar to 767,296 in India
The total number of coronavirus cases in India reached 767,296 on Thursday (July 9), as of 8 am, with the death toll standing at 21,129.
According to the latest updates provided by the Union health ministry, there are 269,789 active cases with 21,129 deaths so far in the country. As many as 476,377 patients have been cured or discharged and one has migrated.
