41 more test COVID-19 positive as tally soars to 1,366

Imphal: Forty-one more persons, 32 male and 9 female been tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, taking the total confirmed cases to 1,366.

The fresh cases are from Kangpokpi with 18, six each from Imphal West and Kamjong, four from Kakching, two each from Tamenglong and Ukhrul and one each from Churachandpur, Imphal East and Noney districts.

According to additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang, the persons who tested positive in the last 24 hours will be shifted to COVID-19 Care Facilities for further treatment.

Meanwhile, another 22 persons undergoing treatment for COVID-19 have recovered and were discharged after they were found negative for the virus in the RT PCR test.

As per the latest official statement, the active cases stands at 677 and recovered is 699 in total. And subsequently, the recovery rate has also increased to 50.43 per cent.

As on Sunday, a total of 2,92,977 persons were screened, and 55,961 samples tested for the novel coronavirus.
