Guwahati: At a time when education system is deeply hampered due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Assam down town University (AdtU) has been awarded E-Learning Excellence for Academic Digitisation (E-LEAD) certification from the coveted QS IGAUGE for E-learning excellence on June 27. This recognition is given for excellence in offering virtual education programmes for higher education institution.
Union Human Resource Development minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was the chief guest at a virtual event held on June 27 to unveil and present E-LEAD certificates to the institutions that have successfully completed an audit. Professor Dr NN Dutta, Chancelor and Professor (Dr) Amar Jyoti Chodhury, Vice Chancellor, AdtU, addressed the virtual event and described the digital initiatives adopted by AdtU.
“The methodology, data collection & validation, audit process, quality check and delivery mechanism have been thoroughly reviewed by experts from the higher education domain,” said Dr Ashwin Fernandes, regional director – South Asia, Middle East & Africa, QS Quacquarelli Symonds & CEO, QS-ERA India Pvt Ltd.
The certification places AdtU as a leading university, which has the transformational technological ability and platforms to conduct academic programmes online during a pandemic which has shaken the education system and accessibility. It also acknowledges that AdtU is meeting teaching parameters and offers engaging solution to its students. Also, AdtU’s learning system is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which is one of the few campus partners in India.
