Tripura Class X results on July 3, govt cancels pending exams

Agartala: Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has cancelled all the pending papers for Madhyamik (matriculation) and Higher Secondary examinations, announced state education minister Ratan Lal Nath.

Speaking at a press conference, Nath said that the results of the Madhyamik class would be declared at the official websites at 9 am., on July 3 next.

“Based on the verdict of the apex court on June 26 last over pending examinations of CBSE board and considering the safety of students, TBSE took the decisions,” Nath said.

He also said that a total of 27,142 candidates, including 13,908 male and 13,234 female had enrolled this year for the higher secondary examinations which was scheduled from March 2 March 31.

“A total of 39,000 students under–old syllabus and new syllabus appeared for the examination from March 3 last. The papers for the new syllabus were over but due to lockdown some papers of the old syllabus and Madrasa students were postponed,” Nath added.

Earlier, the state government had announced the schedule for the pending papers from July 5 next, but due to the extension of the lockdown and measures related to COVID-19, the department has cancelled the examination.

Nath also said that method for evaluating papers for the rest of the subjects, for which exams did not take place, would be announced shortly by the TBSE.

Meanwhile, TBSE president Bhabatosh Saha said that after a meeting on Monday the decision to cancel the remaining examinations was taken considering the verdict of the Supreme Court on CBSE and other national boards.

“A meeting of the recently formed committee would be held on Wednesday to decide on the method of evaluation of results for the un-examined papers,” Saha said.
