Kohima: The recovery rate for COVID-19 in Nagaland declined to 39% as three more persons tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday evening. In addition to the 25 fresh cases that were reported in the state on Sunday morning, a total of 28 new cases have been reported on Sunday.
The state’s tally now stands at 415, of which the number of active cases is 251. All three new cases are from Mon district. The samples were confirmed to be positive for COVID-19 out of 15 samples that were sent to Dibrugarh.
With no report of any recovered cases on Sunday, the recovery rate dropped to 39% from 41% on Saturday, as 28 persons in total tested positive on Sunday.
Minister of health & family welfare S Pangnyu Phom took to Twitter to inform about the new cases. “Update! 3 new cases of COVID-19 +ve have reported out of 15 samples received from Dibrugarh. All cases are from Mon QC,” he wrote.
The total number of positive cases in the State stands at 415 out of which the total active cases are 251 and 164 are recovered cases. Principal Secretary Home Abhijit Sinha informed that all positive patients are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.
As per the severity of symptoms, all the 251 active cases are asymptomatic. As per the distribution of the 415 cases by age, there are four cases between 0-17 years, 396 cases between 18-44 years, 13 cases between 45-64 years and two cases between 65-74 years.
As on Sunday, a total of 11,449 samples have been tested. A total of 7,794 samples were sent to BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) out of which a total of 7,315 samples have been tested and 341 samples have tested positive.
In addition, a total of 4,548 samples have been tested by TrueNat out of which 108 samples have tested positive and were further sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
Sinha informed that a total of 5,632 persons are currently under facility quarantine.
