AdtU has one of the largest scholarship programmes in Northeast since its inception

Guwahati: With an aim to help students who have been financially hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the down town Charity Trust, set up by Down Town Hospital has decided to fund 250 seats free of cost in Assam down town University (AdtU).

“Despite any economic hardships we believe that no child should be deprived of a professional higher education. So, we have almost decided to offer almost 10% of the total seats free of cost to the tune of Rs 6.5 crore,” said Dr. N.N Dutta, chairmain cum managing trustee of down town group in a release.

The objective to support is to be able to find such deserving candidates who otherwise may not be able to get a professional, employment oriented quality education due to their economic shortcomings.

The university, which offers over 55 employment oriented courses, and caters to almost 7,000 students, has one of the largest scholarship programmes in Northeast since its inception.
