New Delhi: A resident of Muzaffarpur in Bihar has filed a complaint against actress Rhea Chakraborty for abetting the suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Rajput and Chakraborty were reportedly in a relationship.

The complainant, Kundan Kumar, filed the petition in the court of chief judicial magistrate Mukesh Kumar and the matter has been posted for hearing on June 24.

Kumar has accused Chakraborty of “financial and mental exploitation”. “My client is a huge fan of Rajput and has been deeply distressed by his suicide. He has filed his complaint under IPC Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 420 (fraud),” Kumar’s lawyer Kamlesh told media persons after the complaint was filed.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police have recorded statements of 15 people so far, including Chakraborty, as per reports.

The latest petition comes just a few days after an advocate filed a similar complaint against eight prominent personalities of Bollywood including Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in connection with Rajput's death on June 14.

The case was filed by advocate Sudhir Kuman Ojha in a court in Muzaffarpur under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 109 (punishment of abetment if the act is committed in consequence and where no express provision is made for its punishment), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In the complaint, Ojha had alleged that Rajput was removed from around seven films and that some of his films were not even released. This, according to the advocate, was the driving force behind the actor’s extreme step.
