Agartala: Six more tests positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, taking the total number of positive cases to 1,095 so far in state.
A total of 1,023 samples got tested on Tuesday; among them, 6 persons tested positive for COVID-19; all of them have travel history. All six persons from Sepahijala district.
Taking to twitter, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote, “Out of 1023 samples tested for COVID-19, 6️people found POSITIVE.
All of them have travel history and are from Sepahijala district.
The chief minister also informed that 123 persons including 64 from AGMC & 59 from Hapania COVID care centre tested negative on Tuesday.
All of them are going to be discharged on Wednesday.
Earlier, speaking in a press conference, Law minister Ratan Lal Nath said that a total 5,269 samples were tested for novel coronavirus in last three days while only 125 persons have tested positive.
“On June 13 a total of 2,070 samples were tested of which 82 tested positive, similarly, on June 14 around 1,670 samples test of which 33 tested positive. On Monday 1,529 samples were tested, while only 10 persons tested positive”, Nath said.
He also said for tackling with COVID-19 Tripura has a total of 12 ventilators of which 9 are in Gobind Ballabh Pant hospital and two in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital and one in North district hospital. Recently, 37 ventilators were sanctioned which the state would receive shortly.
“At present there are 18 containment zone in the state including three in West district, five in Sepahijala, five in Gomati, three in South district and one each in Dhalai and Unakoti”, Nath added.
As of Tuesday, 424 people have been put in facility quarantine, while 5,863 are in-home quarantine. A total of 50,334 samples have been collected, of which 49,207 samples have been tested. The state is testing 12,309 samples per million against India’s 4,184.
