US resident Michael Flor is known to be the longest hospitalised COVID-19 patient; he was handed an invoice comprising of 181 pages after he came out negative
New Delhi: A resident of Seattle in the United States, Michael Flor, who is known to be the longest hospitalised patient of COVID-19, has recently defeated coronavirus and has come out negative.
Not only did he survive the infection, but also ran up to a huge hospital bill of 1.1 million USD (approximately Rs 8.14 crore) and was handed over an invoice comprising of 181 pages.
The 70-year-old Micheal was hospitalised for the longest time after he tested positive for COVID-19 and was undergoing treatment at the hospital since then. He was termed 'miracle child' by the hospital staff and nurses after he came back from the face of death one night and finally recovered from the disease.
The invoice that is comprised of 181 pages consists of all the charges and explanations of medications administered on him. But since Flor has insurance, he might not have to pay the majority of the hospital bill.
For now, Flor is in a state of shock and his family members numb wondering the exponential expenses of getting treated under the American healthcare system.
