Agartala: Tripura has reported 48 positive cases for coronavirus on Friday with 39 more people testing positive for the virus. The total number of positive cases in the state stands to 964. 278 persons have been discharged after recovering.
A total of 1750 samples were tested on Friday; among them, 39 persons have tested positive for COVID-19; all of them had travel history.
Taking to twitter, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote, “Out of 1750 samples tested for COVID19, 39 people found POSITIVE. All of them have travel history.

Earlier this evening, law minister Ratan Lal Nath said, Tripura has a total of 638 active cases, while 278 have recovered and two persons died including one unnatural death and COVID death.
As of Wednesday, 656 people have been put in facility quarantine, while 9,049 are in-home quarantine. A total of 46,341samples have been collected of which 42,802 samples have been tested. The state is testing 10,005 samples per million.
Meanwhile, a total of 474 persons have returned to the state through Churaibari including 121 truck drivers, 54 medical and 294 stranded people.
Presently, 83 are in COVID hospital in Gobind Ballabh Pant hospital, 210 in COVID care centre, 167 in Hapania COVID care centre, one in Army hospital, 50 in Lalsinghmura, 46 in Sagarmahal, 7 in Debdaru PHC, 3 in Ambassa, 2 PRTI Kumarghat, 9 in BSF, one in the Army hospital.
