Guwahati: Guwahati-based speed painter Ranbir Bar sketched a portrait of actor Sonu Sood in appreciation of the humanitarian aid extended by the actor to thousands of migrant workers during the COVID-19 lockdown. For Assam workers, he arranged a chartered flight to send 180 migrants from Barak valley back home.
Sonu Sood shared the portrait made by Bar and thanked him. The actor took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the sketch, “This sketch made my day. Now I wanna meet this amazing artist in person.”
The painting, in particular, is a unique one as it is not just a simple portrait of Sood. The picture is a composition of tiny detailed drawings highlighting the humanitarian work by the actor in helping stranded migrants during the lockdown.
The painter also took to his Facebook to reply to Sonu Sood stating, “It would be a privilege for me too, to meet a true hero who has been selflessly doing such heroic deeds. I earnestly acknowledge your service to the mankind, Sir. You are someone with a golden heart, which I just tried to express through my art. It’s a tribute to you Sir.”
Rabin Bar is also a known face in the field of art as he is widely recognised for his speed painting. He has performed with his art on shows in Sony TV, ZEE TV, E-TV Bangla, E-TV Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, NE TV, News Live, ZE News, DY 365, Prime Time Special, etc.
Sonu Sood has been offering relentless service to the migrant population and anyone who needed help during the lockdown. From organising transportation services, feeding the needy, providing PPE’s to doctors and even allowing his hotel to be used as a quarantine centre for health care workers. Recently he even started a helpline number for people to reach out to his team during the time of need.
