Guwahati: Royal Global University has been ranked No. 1 among the top 10 private universities in Assam by EducationWorld India’s Higher Education Rankings for 2020-2021.
The study was conducted by the Centre for Forecasting and Research, Delhi. The results were then published in India’s most comprehensive education portal for educators, parents, and student communities, Education World, which offers detailed information about various institutions.
In Assam, Royal Global University is followed by Kaziranga University, Jorhat in the second position and Assam Don Bosco University in the third.
To direct the EW India Private University Rankings 2020-21 study, more than 150 field faculty of the Delhi-based market research and opinion polls company Centre for Forecasting and Research interviewed 4,168 sample respondents involving 2,214 faculty members and 1,126 last-year students of 162 colleges, and 828 industry delegates in 25 urban areas countrywide.
They were mentioned to grant private colleges they know, scores of 1-300 on ten parameters of higher education excellence, viz, faculty competence faculty welfare & development, research and innovation, educational plan and teaching method, industry interface, placements, infrastructure, internationalism, authority/administration and range and variety of study programs offered. Higher weightage is given to the basic parameters of faculty competence (150), infrastructure (150), and research and innovation (300).
Manipal Academy of Higher Education was ranked the country’s No. 1 private varsity for the fifth year consecutively, followed by the Birla Institute of Science & Technology, Pilani at second for the fifth year. Ashoka University sited in Sonepat, Haryana was ranked No. 3.
Additionally, Apex Professional University in Pasighat has been recognised in the top in Arunachal Pradesh and Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong in Meghalaya with Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok in Sikkim.
EducationWorld began publishing its yearly Higher Education Rankings in 2013, giving unique significance to private intuitions of higher learning. The association accepts that it would not be well-suited to do an examination among private and government establishments since private institutions with huge investment and reputations in question, are bound to give internationally benchmarked research, education, and academic opportunities.
