Guwahati: In view of detection of covid-19 cases, three areas in Guwahati city – Central Jail in Lokhra; Krishna Nagar, Gosala; Bathou Nagar, Geeta Mandir, Noonmati — were declared as containment zones on Friday.
According to an order form the office of the deputy commissioner of Kamrup (Metropolitan), the authorities have been directed to seal the areas immediately.
The border for the containment zone in Central Jail area is residence of Hiren Teron and office of Coffee Board in the north; adjacent road to Central Jail in the south; SSB camp and Assam Police plot in the east; and main gate of Central Jail in the west.
The border for the containment zone in Krishna Nagar Krishna Nagar road in the north; Mitha Amtol in the south; Adingiri village in the east and Gosalal Adingiri road in the west.
The border for the containment zone in Bathou Nagar area is residence of Fakuram in the north; Assam State Zoo Campus in the south; Japorigog hill in the east and village road in the west.
“Any unauthorised entry and exit into the notified containment zone are barred till the area is declared safe as per the guidelines of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare,” said the order.
Also, any movement of unauthorised individuals and vehicles is prohibited in the area.
Meanwhile, the tag of containment zone has been withdrawn from Group Centre, CRPF, 9th Mile, as no further cases of coronavirus were detected in the area.
