Agartala: A day after 23 new positive cases of the COVID-19 were announced in Tripura, another 25 people tested positive on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 471 in the state.
Out of a group of 581 samples that were tested for COVID-19, 25 people have tested positive. Of these, 23 have a travel history and two others have been found to have contact with other COVID-19 infected patients.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb took to Twitter to confirm the news.
“Alert ~ More 25 people found #COVID19 POSITIVE in Tripura today out of 581 samples tested. Among them, 23 people have travel history & 2 people are contacts of COVID19 patients. Requesting everyone to be cautious. #TripuraCOVID19Count,” the CM tweeted.
So far, Tripura has had 294 active COVID-19 cases, of which 239 are being treated at the COVID Care Centre and three others are placed at the COVID-19 unit of the GB Pant Hospital. At least 173 patients have been discharged after recovery so far. The remaining cases are on their way to the COVID Care Centre. The state goverment claims to be conducting 7,265 tests per million population.
In Tripura, a total of 34,520 people have been placed under surveillance, of which 21,012 have already been released after completion of 14 days’ quarantine and observation period. As on Saturday, 460 people were placed in facility quarantine, while another 13,048 were in in-home quarantine.
On Tuesday, over 1,559 samples were collected from across the state and 850 samples, including samples of those who returned by Indigo are being tested. A total of 31,491 samples have been collected of which 29,041 samples have been tested.
Among the 130 percent positive cases tested positive in last 24 hours, 51 persons are from Sepahijala district, two from Khowai district, four from West district, five from Gomati, 22 from South district, 41 from Unakoti district.
