Imphal: With seven more persons testing positive for COVID-19 in Manipur on Sunday night, the state’s tally has increased to 78.
Now, the total number of active COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur stands at 67 after 11 recovered, including four women who were discharged from the hospitals on Sunday.
According to additional health director Dr K Sasheekumar Mangang, samples of the four positive cases were tested at Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratories (VRDL) at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) on Sunday night.

Another three samples were tested positive at VRDL at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), he said.
Two of them, aged 17 and 26 years, belong to Senapati district and are returnees from Chennai while the 18-year-old man from Bishnupur district recently returned from Uttar Pradesh by train.
The remaining three, including the woman, aged 23, 22, 22, who tested positive at RIMS, belong to Thoubal district. They are returnees from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Hyderabad, respectively.

As per the official, all the seven patients will be admitted at COVID-19 care facility at JNIMS and RIMS for further observation, adding that they are in stable condition.

Meanwhile, all necessary control measures, including contact tracing and containment process are in place as precautionary measure, he said.
Meanwhile, following the reports of two more fresh cases detected in Senapati, the district magistrate I Lalithambigai K has issued sealing and containment zone of the quarantine center at Don Bosco Hr Sec School in Maram with immediate effect.
The containment zone areas include national highway in the north and east, school campus towards the south and school ground in the west.

Entry and exit of public is being prohibited from the containment zone, banning of vehicular movement nearby the containment zone area and sealing of the geographical area as precautionary measure to stop the further spread of the virus in the district.
