Guwahati: In these times of “new normal”, the educational system has taken quite a sharp turn, especially in terms of knowledge dissemination. Tuitonic, an online tutor aggregator started by two graduates from Tezpur University in Assam, is one such platform that provides students access to tutors from the comfort of their homes.
The seeds of Tuitonic germinated on Tezpur University when it was called Campus Tuition. Founder Rakesh Vishwakarma along with Sandeep Sarkar and Norrita Priyadarshani thought of taking private home tuition to the next level.
“So, although Tuitonic was launched just 10 days ago, it already has an experience base of two years,” said Rishab Roy, co-founder and operational head, who joined Vishwakarma to launch Tuitonic.
As of now, the website is functioning in three districts of Assam — Tinsukia, Tezpur, and Jorhat — but the young entrepreneurs plan to take it to the entire state soon.
While Vishwakarma has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science, Roy is a graduate in Electronics and Communications. The team now consists of another member Ankita Biswas, content writer and marketing head, who is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from St Anthony’s College, Shillong.
Providing its services to students from Classes VI to XII, the startup has already registered more than 40 tutors so far. Users can adjust their tutoring dates, subjects, and timing online. One can opt for both online sessions as well as face-to-face classes.
“The vision is to be the top student’s eccentric company. We believe in delivering top-rated services and products to the students,” said Roy. He also added that Tuitonic wants to build up the entrepreneur skill set in today’s youths.
