New Delhi: Ahead of his virtual meeting with PM Narendra Modi, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison tried to woo the Indian audience by making an Indian snack and giving it his own twist. The result — ‘ScoMosas’ with mango chutney, all made from scratch.

On Sunday, Morrison took to Twitter to offer his ‘ScoMosas’ to Modi. “Sunday ScoMosas with mango chutney, all made from scratch – including the chutney! A pity my meeting with @narendramodi this week is by videolink. They’re vegetarian, I would have liked to share them with him,” he said.

In return, PM Modi said the ‘ScoMosas’ looked delicious. “Connected by the Indian Ocean, united by the Indian Samosa! Looks delicious, PM @ScottMorrisonMP! Once we achieve a decisive victory against COVID-19, we will enjoy the Samosas together. Looking forward to our video meet on the 4th,” he tweeted.

Naturally, the delectable tweets have left a trail of likes, comments and retweets. BJP MP and national spokesperson Meenakashi Lekhi said, “Proposing your name for Michelin Star.”

On June 4, the two leaders are scheduled for a virtual meet and Morrison lamented that he won’t be able to share his vegetarian samosas with Modi. The Indian PM will hold its first virtual bilateral summit on the same date and he hopes to expand the strategic partnership with Australia. Australia, on the other hand, is also looking to expand its agricultural exports to India.

After the successful conclusion of the agreements, the two countries are expected to develop reliable supply chains in critical minerals, medical goods, and new technologies.
