Meghalaya has a total of 15 positive COVID-19 cases; while 12 have recovered, one die and two are active

Shillong: Meghalaya on Monday reported another case of COVID-19, taking the total number of positive cases to 15 so far. The patient, a resident of Garo Hills, had recently travelled from Chennai with the previous infected person.

However, the patient had been in isolation since the day of arrival. The patient is currently in Resubelpara under institutional isolation and medical observation.

Taking to Twitter, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma said, “Another person who had travelled from Chennai along with the 14th case has turned out to be COVID19 positive. The person was in isolation since the day of arrival. Person is presently in Resubelpara under institutional isolation and medical observation.”


Meghalaya has a total of 15 positive COVID-19 cases. Of this, 12 have recovered, one died and two are currently active.

On May 18, the state was declared COVID-19 free but a day later, it lost the tag after a resident of Garo hills, who had returned from Chennai, tested positive.
