Paid quarantine centres have also been set up by requisitioning 34 hotels in Itanagar and Naharlagun with a total of 608 rooms, he said.

Dolum said the BPL housing complex at Lekhi, around 17 km from here, will start functioning as a state quarantine centre in the next 2-4 days. The centre would be able to accommodate 200 persons initially and a total of 570 persons once it becomes fully functional, the DC said.

Dolum said the administration is expecting around 350 stranded students from various states to return to the capital soon. He appealed the returnees to cooperate with the administration whilst in institutional quarantine and assured that the administrators, police and medical team are jointly supervising the facilities 24×7.
