Kohima: Through a letter issued by additional chief secretary & finance commissioner Sentiyanger Imchen on Tuesday, all district administrations in Nagaland have been directed to “make necessary arrangements as instructed to facilitate the movement of people to their respective destinations” from May 7-9.

The letter addressed to all deputy commissioners said that the government is allowing the movement of locals/indigenous persons who are stranded and desire to return back to their home districts/villages during the period from May 7-9.

It directed all districts to make necessary arrangements to facilitate the movement of people to their respective destinations in consultation with the respective district Nagaland State Transport (NST) officials. Free NST bus services will be provided for the transportation of such persons, it added.

For people of Mon district travelling by the NST buses, it said that the bus will take the Nagaland-Assam route and will be escorted by police without any stoppages in Assam. It directed that the private vehicles entering Mon district to take the route from Kohima-Wokha-Mokokchung-Longleng.

It further directed all administrations to ensure necessary arrangements immediately.
