Like before, the new update on video calls in WhatsApp will be secured with end-to-end encryption

New Delhi: After the recent update on special lockdown stickers, messaging app WhatsApp has now added another new feature. The app has confirmed that it will double the number of participants in a group call from four to eight.

At a time of lockdown, when most of the businesses are opting for work from home, video conferencing apps like Houseparty, Zoom and Google Hangouts have become the viable apps for office conferencing. With a cap of just four participants in WhatsApp, conferencing was often not possible.

The new update which will be available on both iPhones and Android will allow eight people to chat simultaneously on the same call. WhatsApp is the most popular go-to messaging app with over two billion users worldwide that has been lagging in this scenario.

EastMojo had earlier revealed that WhatsApp is going to increase the limit of users in video calls.

Like before, the new update on video calls in WhatsApp will be secured with end-to-end encryption, so that no one else can view or listen to the private conversation including WhatsApp.

The update couldn’t have come at a better time. With millions of people staying safe indoors, they are also trying to connect with long-lost friends and relatives via video calls. WhatsApp’s new update will surely help users in these difficult times.
