Guwahati: With the nation in lockdown and us being ‘safe at home’ (stuck at home is a matter of perspective after all) our go-to entertainment OTT platforms have been releasing quite a line up of new movies.
This week has some exciting titles coming our way, this includes some brand new releases and some which you or may not have missed when it was released.
So here are five must-watch releases on Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ Hotstar. Hope you have popcorn.
The trailer is mouthwatering and many of us have already marked it on our calendar. Chris Hemsworth is looking amazing and its extensively shot in India. Directed by Sam Hargrave, this edge-of-your-seat, action-packed thriller is produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, the visionary directors of Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War. The film features our own Pankaj Tripathi, and Randeep Hooda. Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is a fearless black market mercenary who has nothing to lose. He’s enlisted to rescue the kidnapped son of an international crime lord and embarks on the deadliest mission of his career. This one is for the action buffs

After Life Season 2– Netflix
After Tony’s (Ricky Gervais) wife dies due to breast cancer, this local journalist contemplates suicide and then decides to live a life long enough to do whatever he wants in a way of punishing the world. This was the first season, the second season which is set to release on April 24 has Tony trying to turn over a new leaf. Still struggling with immense grief this black-comedy-drama showcases Tony trying to help others around him. A tear-jerker, dark comedy, real-life scenario all rolled into one.
Bad Education– Disney + Hotstar
This movie is a comedy-drama based on true-life events. A student reporter uncovers embezzlement at the Roslyn School District, in Long Island.
A movie with Academy Award nominee Hugh Jackman, Academy Award winner Allison Janney and Emmy winner Ray Romani and directed by Cory Finley is obvious a must watch on April 26.
Bhoot Part One– Amazon Prime Video
As the title suggests, this is for horror and supernatural film fans. Bhoot Part One starring Vicky Kaushal was released on February 21, 2020. It will stream on Amazon Prime on April 22. This spine-tingling plot has a lonely shipping officer trying to rescue a girl from a mysterious unmanned ship.
Little Women- Amazon Prime Video
Star-studded Little Women streams on Amazon Prime on April 26. This is just two months after its release. Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. The Oscar-Winning film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, with Timothée Chalamet as their neighbor Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee, and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.
