All Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ employees in Tripura have been asked to attend offices regularly

Agartala: In a bid to provide essential services to the people and regulate attendance in government offices amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Tripura chief secretary Manoj Kumar on Thursday directed all the departments providing essential services to function at full strength.

An order copy issued by the chief secretary informed, “The government of India extended lockdown up to May 3, 2020 in order to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 epidemic. While there is a need for regulating attendance in office, there is also a need to ensure delivery of public service particularly essential services.”

The order also cited that the government has decided that all Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ employees will attend offices regularly.

“All departments providing essential services as mentioned in the consolidated guidelines issued by MHA and other essential public services will function at full strength,” the order copy informed.

The departments providing essential services include health, power, drinking water, municipal services, police, home guards, civil defence, fire services, prisons, revenue & relief, agriculture & allied activities, fisheries, ARDD, forest, industry & commerce, labour, rural development & panchayat, food & civil supplies, IT, district administration & treasury, social welfare & education, among others.

The secretary has asked other departments to prepare daily or weekly roster of Group C & D officials as per requirement who will attend office physically and the rest will work from home.

The order copy also directed that if any official needs to leave the station, he must seek approval of the controlling officer… “This order takes immediate effect and will be valid till lockdown continues,” the copy added.
