COVID-19: Automovill leads the way in sanitizing Assam’s VVIP cars

Guwahati: Amidst all the pandemonium and fear over the COVID-19 pandemic, one thing still stands firm — proper sanitization is the best possible way to combat the deadly virus. Taking this view a step forward, Assam-based startup Automovill has been rendering its services in the sanitization of vehicles used by government officials.

Automovill, a startup started by Chinmay Baruah and Mridu Mahendra Das and funded by NEDFI Venture Capital Limited (NVCL), is sanitizing the vehicles used by government officials. Automovill’s Guwahati team is sanitizing the vehicles used by the governor of Assam, Assam chief minister, state DGP and other ministers and high-ranking officers.

In a statement, the startup said that the entire team is ensuring the safety and hygiene of the vehicles used by them. They are even using high-grade broad-spectrum antimicrobial to curb the possible containment of the vehicles. The sanitization programme will continue for another couple of days and will be repeated until the pandemic is contained.

Even after months of the outbreak of COVID-19, only proper sanitization seems to be the way out of this crisis. However, this has also resulted in a shortage of proper sanitization materials. But some, like the students of Kohima Science College (Autonomous), Jotsoma in Nagaland, have found a solution to the shortage of hand sanitizers in the market by producing them from the college’s chemistry laboratory.

Automovill’s effort also does not stop just there as, “this can be extended to all medical vehicles and vehicles used by the machinery in this time of emergency.”

Apart from Guwahati, Bangalore’s Automovill team has sanitized the police vehicles of many police stations.
