Imphal: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday released a new music video based on coronavirus awareness titled Akiba Laanda Amani, meaning a ‘fearful battle’, at the CM’s secretariat in state capital Imphal.

Written by noted lyricist Narendra Ningomba and sung by playback singer Oinam Swamikumar, the music was produced with an aim to create awareness among the general public on the government’s advisories to contain coronavirus pandemic.

Through music, the video also aims to spread messages on the importance of staying indoors, maintaining hygiene and social distancing to curb the deadly virus which has affected over 5,000 people and claimed more than 100 lives in the country so far.

Speaking at the launch, Singh praised the efforts of the music fraternity and different sections of society in creating awareness on COVID-19.

The music is also about letting the public know about how medical workers, armed forces and media persons are on the frontline of the battle against the deadly virus.

The music is produced by M Chanu Imoinu of Sileima Productions and directed by Rhythm Thiyam.

Deputy chief minister Y Joykumar Singh along with other cabinet ministers and MLAs were also present during the launching ceremony.

Here’s the complete lyrics:

Society will never forget

Doctor, nurses, police and journalist

You with sacrificial spirit

Offering our respect

A fearful battle

Coming to snatch our life

A new disease

With no drug to cure

Carefulness is the only life saver

Restrict within our homes

Me, you and all, abiding government advisories

Let’s save myself and others

Corona comes surreptitiously

Eyeing selfishly

Shelter our life watchfully

Let’s confine in our homes

We will surely win

In defeating corona

Leave away the differences

Fight collectively

Can’t run away in fear

Can’t save by running

Have to fight

Avoid crowded space

Corona can’t infect

Confining in our homes

We will avoid COVID-19.
