Agartala: Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has sought 100 ideas from the people to deal with the loss that the state government will face following the 21-day national lockdown.
In a video message, Deb urged the people to start thinking of what should be the first 100 steps that the state government needs to take once the lockdown is lifted.
“I appeal to the people to start thinking on ideas that the state government can adopt. We have to think from now rather than waiting for the time when the lockdown is over,” Deb said.
He said that everyone can send their ideas to the CM dashboard and through e-mail and even WhatsApp them to the administrative officials in advance.
“We are financially weak and the state has faced huge losses and therefore we have to take a number of steps. Many ideas may come to the chief minister’s office but we will choose the best 100 ideas,” Deb added.
Deb also urged the gurus of all religions including Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism and Jainism, to spread awareness to the masses through video messages using social media for their followers asking them to remain indoors as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.
He also said that those who returned from the congregation in Delhi’s Mizamuddin Markaz have been sent on facility quarantine and so far all the reports have been negative.
“Although the reports have been negative, a second round of tests would be conducted upon them to confirm,” Deb said.
Speaking further, he said that most of them who had been to the Markaz were found positive in Assam, Arunachal and Manipur.
The borders of the state have been sealed by the state government so that nobody from Assam can enter Tripura. However, vehicles carrying goods would be allowed after proper screening.
“The state government has decided to ensure that all the essential commodities remain available in the market and people do not need to suffer in the next 1-2 months,” Deb added.
