Rono Hills: In a bid to overcome the scarcity of hand sanitizers, which is currently the most sought-after commodity in the market following the spread of COVID-19, the Rajiv Gandhi University’s department of chemistry is in the process of coming up with locally made sanitizers in the department’s laboratory.

Informing this, David Pertin, the Arunachal Pradesh university’s joint registrar, who said the sanitizers once produced, would be initially made available for the teachers and staffs in the university campus.

Replying to a query if the same would be made available to the public in the later, Pertin said: “As of now we have limited raw materials so the first lot would be of around 10 litres. There is scarcity of raw materials as well and the production would increase once we have it.”
