Shillong: The coronavirus outbreak has led the Meghalaya government to impose restrictions on movement of public transport and to close all shops, markets and establishments with effect from midnight of March 20 to midnight of March 21 throughout Meghalaya with a view to enforce the advisories and restrictions issued by the government.
Section 144 ha s been imposed in the entire state which prohibits the gathering of five or more persons at any place. The order will come into force with effect from midnight of March 20 to midnight of March 21.
The DC has also ordered all markets and establishments in East Khasi Hills district to be shut, and public transport too.
The DC also informed that this order shall not be applicable to security forces and medical teams on duty.
