Guwahati: Assam’s heartthrob singer Zubeen Garg is reportedly said to be out of danger but will be kept under intensive surveillance at the Intense Care Unit (ICU) of Guwhati’s Nemcare Hospital for the next 24 hours.
The Ya Ali singer was hospitalised after he collapsed during an event in Guwahati on Friday evening.
Speaking with EastMojo, Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma informed that nearly 12 doctors from every department of the private hospital are attending to the popular singer at the ICU. Sharma also informed that Garg had his breakfast comprising fruit juices and other normal food items provided by the hospital authorities on Saturday morning.
Talking about the major events planned by the popular artist, Sharma said that Garg was scheduled to perform at an event in Kokrajhar district, but eventually, it was postponed immediately after the artist’s critical health condition on Friday. He also revealed that Garg had planned for a back-to-back performance and shooting in several locations across the country including Guwahati and New Delhi but for now all the plans have been postponed.
Meanwhile, as per latest reports from Nemcare Hospital authorities, it is informed that Garg got a few stitches on his tongue as both the sides of the artiste’s teeth remained closed as he fell to the ground after fainting. It has also been said that the singer got hurt on his neck and hand as he was pulled by his fans to the emergency unit of the hospital. However, the authorities have said that his health condition is stable and he is reviving fast.
On Friday evening, Garg collapsed during an event at the Guwahati Town Club following which he was rushed to the emergency ward at Nemcare Hospital at Bhangagarh locality of the city. Immediately after he got admitted, a team of doctors conducted preliminary treatment and revealed that the popular artiste fainted due to lack of sleep and overwork.
Significantly, immediately after the news of the popular singer surfaced all over social media, his fans and well-wishers from all parts of the city thronged into the hospital premises and were seen praying for his early recovery. Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma too prayed for quick recovery of the singer. In addition to it, prayers were being conducted at various corners of the state for early recovery of the singer by his fan clubs.
