Agartala: The Union defence minister Rajnath Singh called upon Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in New Delhi on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the chief minister discussed on a number of issues with the union minister, including the demand for setting up a new Army School at Mohanpur sub-vision in West Tripura district, around 25 km away from Agartala city.
Deb also demanded to start Army recruitment in Tripura. The union minister accepted both the demands and has assured to do the needful proceedings at the earliest.

Chief Minister Deb on Twitter, said, “After the meeting with @DefenceMinIndia Sri @rajnathsingh ji I am happy to share that he has accepted our demand of setting up a new Army School at Mohanpur, Tripura.”
He added, “On behalf of the people of Tripura I thank Honorable @DefenceMinIndia Shri @rajnathsingh ji for accepting our demands which will be very much helpful for the people of Tripura.”
