The latter part of the week is likely to be dry across all states, except Arunachal

Guwahati: If you are planning to visit Northeast this week, then we suggest carry your raincoats and gumboots, as, the week ahead is likely to witness rain spells with some thunderstorms.

According to a forecast by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Guwahati, as on Monday, moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, so much that thunderstorm with lightning warning has been issued for the frontier state.

Meanwhile, light rain/ thundershower are very likely at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, along with shallow to moderate fog.

Again on Tuesday, the lightning warning continues in Arunachal. RMC report states that light to moderate rain/thunderstorm are very likely to occur at few places over Arunachal Pradesh, while other states may experience light rain/ thundershower and some fog.

Coming as a relief for travellers from Wednesday, there are no more thunderstorm warning in Arunachal, but, light rain/ thundershowers are very likely at isolated places in the frontier state till Friday. However, the remaining states are most likely to remain dry till Friday.

Also, don’t forget to pack some windcheaters, as rains will be accompanied with chilly mountain winds at many places.
