Guwahati: On the eve of the 65th Filmfare Awards, Guwahati Police has left no stone unturned in ensuring foolproof security arrangements for the city’s biggest event of the season.

Speaking with EastMojo, Munna Prasad Gupta, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, said, “All required security arrangement including CCTV cameras have been put in place.” Foolproof security arrangements have been made at the hotels, awards venue and route, he added.

Though there are no specific threats against the event, Gupta said, “We are not taking any chances and all arrangements have been provided.”

As many 24 A-list celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar, Madhuri Dixit, Kartik Aaryan, Ayushmann Khurrana are coming down to take part in the cinematic extravaganza on Saturday evening at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium. The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is decked up and tight security arrangements are in place.

The show will be hosted by the new heartthrob of B-town Vicky Kaushal and ace director Karan Johar.

According to reports, 150 Assamese artists and dancers including Aimee Baruah, Gayatri Mahanta among others will perform at the mega event. There will be three performances focusing on Assamese culture- namely Bihu, Sattriya and a tribal dance performance.

The Filmfare Awards are happening for the first time in Guwahati and aims to promote Assam tourism. Assam government had signed an MoU with The Times Group to play host to the Black Lady in November last year.
