Nampong: Inaugurating the second day of Pangsau Pass International Festival in Nampong, Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, state legislative assembly speaker Pasang D Sona said that the best investment for growth of tourism is nothing but good behaviour and welcoming nature of local people towards the visitors.
Sona inaugurated the festival in presence of local MLA Laisam Simai and a host of other dignitaries.
Lauding the people of Changlang district, especially Nampong area, for making the erstwhile Pangsau Pass Winter Festival a bigger and better one, Sona said, “Tourism sector grows not because of place or its culture but with the constant efforts put together by its people.”
“I’m elated to see that the festival is gaining popularity while boosting the tourism potentials of area,” he added.
In order to carry forward tourism industry everyone’s contribution is important, the Speaker said while calling upon each one to be responsible for its growth.
“Tourism sector is like an inflated balloon, one prick and it’s gone,” Sona however said while highlighting about how delicate the industry is if not taken care of properly.
Reiterating that tourism is one of the industries in Arunachal Pradesh which will create livelihoods for the people and change the economy of the state, Sona exhorted the people especially youths to strive hard for its growth.
Further, he also lauded the local MLA for working hard for development of tourism and other sectors in the area and urged upon the public to extend their supports to him.
Earlier, DC Changlang R.K. Sharma, SP Changlang M Gambo and other officers received the Speaker at Tourist Lodge at Jairampur where he was offered guard of honour by the APP.
He also visited Kovin village near Jairampur, one of the extended festival venues, and witnessed cultural programme.
