Dimapur: A random act of kindness by the men in khaki in Dimapur town of Nagaland is winning hearts of the people.
On New Year’s Day, personnel from the Dimapur East police station came out to distribute hot tea and snacks among the beggars in a bid to truly “serve the people” of the town and spread joy during the festive season. Their noble and humanitarian effort has been hailed by the people of the state and the region.
East Police Station is considered the busiest police station in Nagaland.
Speaking with EastMojo, East police station officer-in-charge RK Patton said that the act was pulled off on humanitarian grounds and serve the downtrodden people living in the town. “We distributed tea and snacks among homeless people and street beggars in and around Dimapur on New Year’s Day on humanitarian grounds,” he said.
The OC also said that it was their duty to serve the people of the town and that they were simply doing that and spreading joy on the occasion.
The town has been witnessing chilly weather conditions for the past few days. The homeless people and the street beggars have been the worst hit.
