In 2017, the two victims were found hanging in their houses after they were sexually abused within a gap of two months; accused let off for lack of evidence
New Delhi: After the encounter of the four rape and murder accused in Hyderabad veterinarian case on Friday, a Kerala man who was acquitted by court in Walayar sisters' death case earlier this year was thrashed by unidentified persons and left on the road on Saturday.
The person -- Kutty Madhu -- was the main accused in Walayar sisters' case. According to reports, he was found lying on the road and taken to the Palakkad district hospital by the police.
In 2017, two sisters, a 13-year-old and a nine-year-old, were found hanging in their houses after they were sexually abused within a gap of two months.
Although five persons, including the relatives of the children, were accused in the case, they were acquitted by the Special POCSO Court earlier this year. Their acquittal of the accused had created a huge outrage in Kerala. Despite the family of the deceased girls stating that they had witnessed the children being abused by prime accused M Madhu alias Kutty Madhu and V Madhu, they were acquitted as the investigating officers had failed to produce enough evidence, reported The News Minute.
Police are looking into the matter.
