Kohima: Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday announced the district winners for the ‘Ticket to Hornbill’ — state edition. The winners will be performing along with the national bands at the ‘The Great Hornbill Rock’ to be held during the Hornbill Festival in the state from December 1 to 10 this year.
Taking to twitter, Rio wrote: “Pleased to announce the result of #TicketToHornbill – State Edition. The Govt. continues to strive in ensuring that stakeholders at grassroot have access to opportunities & provide platforms to showcase their talents. Congratulations to the district winners. #ProgressiveNagaland”.

Kohima: Fifth Note Band; Dimapur: Delhi Public School; Longleng: Disciple of Love; Mon: Alive; Kiphire: Pin Drop Silence; Wokha: Saronthung and the band; Phek: Sweven; Tuensang: Naga Incarnate Band; Zunheboto: O; Peren: The mysterious; Mokokchung: The Great Decade.
As reported earlier by EastMojo, the state government has introduced ‘The Great Hornbill Rock’ where winners from all the districts of the state, chosen through the ‘Ticket to Hornbill’ event will perform alongside national bands.
Envisioned by the chief minister and initiated by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), ‘the Great Hornbill Rock’ will replace the popular Hornbill International Rock contest with the aim to make the Hornbill Music Festival a full-fledged music festival.
The ‘Ticket to Hornbill’ event will also be conducted across few selected cities in the country to be initiated by ‘Hard Rock Cafe’ outlets.
