Manipur: The Assam Rifles recovered brown sugar and ā€˜World is Yoursā€™ (WY) tablets worth Rs 7.2 crore at Khudengthabi check-post in Manipurā€™s Tengnoupal district on Wednesday evening.

Based on a specific intelligence, a silver-coloured Eeco Van bearing registration number DL-04-AS-4404, driven by Jamminlian Vaipheu of Launching village, was stopped for questioning at Khudengthabi check-post, said a press release issued by the defence PRO on Thursday.

After a thorough search of the vehicle, brown sugar weighing approximately 3.336 kg along with 20,000 WY tablets worth more than Rs 7.2 crore were recovered.

The arrested persons along with the recovered items have been handed over to appropriate authorities for further investigation, said the statement issued by defence PRO.
