A resident of Electric Veng in Aizawl, Lalnunsanga scored 211 points in the five rounds of CBR-150R (Junior) racing category that took place since June this year.

Lalnunsanga has always been a big fan of motor sports and would follow his elder brother to various racing events in the city. After getting into Mizoram Motor Sports Association (MiMSA) in 2016, he started racing for various clubs in Aizawl.

Initially, the 18-year-old racer did not get the support of his parents, his friends and other enthusiastic bikers but later continued to support his dream of racing at the national level.

Lalnunsanga’s big break came in 2017, when he bagged the second position at the Suzuki Red Bull Rookie Cup. The same year, he won the third prize while representing India at the Asia Cup of Road Racing held at Buddh International Circuit.

These championships propelled him to venture into the expert category. He was selected in the 2018 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt but failed to win the India Talent Cup that year.

However, his failure did not deter him and by June this year, he started training at racing tracks across the country. His hard work paid off and he finally bagged the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup this year.

Lalnunsanga said that he would like to thank the constant support of his family and friends. He also extended his gratitude to Honda dealer in Aizawl — Zote Honda, who sponsored all his air travel during the five rounds of racing held from June this year.

Lalnunsanga will be riding the NSF250R from next season

Lalnunsanga is thankful that from next season, he will be riding the first moto3 machine in Indian domestic racing — the NSF250R. He is hopeful that this will be a great chance to make a name at the international level.
