Guwahati: The Northeastern state of Meghalaya promoted its agriculture and horticulture products at SIAL India 2019 Food Innovation Show, which was kicked off at Pragati Maiden in New Delhi on Thursday.
Under the presence of Union minister of consumer affairs Ram Vilas Paswan and chief minister Conrad K Sangma, the Meghalaya pavilion titled ‘Meghalaya on the Move’ was inaugurated showcasing the processed food products of 21 top food processing entrepreneurs of the state.
Vijay Byrsat of Centre Of Learning, Knowledge and Services (COLKS) Pvt Ltd won the prestigious SIAL India Food Innovation Award 2019 for his premium product — BEE Natural Honey — announced on Thursday.
The CM took the opportunity to share on his twitter handle, “Hon’ble Minister @irvpaswan ji inaugurated the Meghalaya Pavilion at @sial_paris India in New Delhi today. We are promoting Meghalaya’s best Agri and Horti products in the biggest food exhibition show in India.”
The food network featured alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, processed food, bakery products, baby food, dairy products, fruit and vegetables, organic and health products, sweets and confectionery, among others.
SIAL Network team will be bringing international buyers from ASEAN, Gulf and other countries like Thailand, Korea to explore Indian made goods and finalise their merchandise.
The last edition witnessed over 150 exhibitors from 13 countries with approximate 5,000 trade visitors, making it the ideal networking and business platform for the food and beverage industry stakeholders.
