Tinsukia: “Who is Pradyut Bordoloi? I do not know him,” this was the reaction of seasoned politician Himanta Biswa Sarma in Tinsukia on Tuesday when asked about syndicate raj allegations levelled on him by his former cabinet colleague when the Congress party was in power, and now Congress MP from Nagaon in Assam.
Bordoloi kicked in a huge storm by alleging a few days ago that an illegal coal mining syndicate was running in Tinsukia district under the nose of Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and deputy commissioner and superintendent of police were involved in it, creating a huge storm.
He went ahead saying such and syndicate cannot function with chief minister knowledge and that he visits Tinsukia twice a month proves his involvement.

Finance minister Sarma, while taking a dig at Bordoloi, told reporters, “Who is Pradyut Bordoloi? I have to find out. Who is he, what is he, which person, I do not know.”
Sarma was in Tinsukia to lay foundation stone of a railway overbridge at Sreepuria road in Tinsukia along with chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
As he was leaving the venue to catch a flight, journalists surrounded him and hurled some questions. Responding to one such question, Sarma gave this strong reaction against his former cabinet colleague when the Congress party was in power.
