Guwahati: In a bid to promote road safety among college students of Guwahati, Set Wet — Marico’s male grooming and styling master brand — organised its first-ever biking campaign ‘#SetWetGo’ in Northeast India. For this, the hair styling brand tied up with Assam Bikers, one of the largest bikers’ groups of the region, to create a platform for youngsters to interact with their favourite bikers.

Assam Bikers was formed in 2012 with the sole purpose of promoting road safety for bikers in the region. With the motto, ‘Ride Safe, Ride United’, the group reaffirmed its mission at the event on August 30 with riders taking part in fun activities with biking and safety gear in place.

Speaking with EastMojo at the event held in Gauhati University, Mayur Mahanta, founder of Assam Bikers, said their purpose as a group is to promote road safety among the locals, especially the college students, as youngsters are the ones who are mostly into bikes.

“In the past seven years, what Assam Bikers has been doing, apart from promoting safe riding which we obviously do, is that we have taken up two initiatives. One is promoting cancer awareness and the other is helping flood victims anywhere in the country,” he added.

Also speaking about Assam Bikers, Nozmul Hossain, a member of the group, said that it is all about brotherhood, riding together and having a good time. “With their positive attitude of promoting road safety and to minimise accidents, Assam Bikers is making the people understand the proper way to ride a bike and at the same time to have a cheerful moment together,” he added.

The event was attended by a huge number of biking enthusiasts and students, besides the members of Assam Bikers.
