The decision to ‘terminate’ the two officials reportedly came from the directives of the president of the NSCN-R

Dimapur: For their alleged involvement in the firing incident in Dimapur on August 16, where self-styled ‘Lt Col’ Toishe Yeptho of the National Socialist Council of Nagalaim-Isaac-Muivah (NSCN-IM) was killed, the insurgent outfit’s Reformation faction (NSCN-R) on Wednesday “terminated” two of its “officials” from their services.

Defence ‘kilonser-cum-UT1 supervisor’ Khekato Kinny and deputy kilonser Chingshi Longkumer were found to be allegedly involved in the August 16 firing incident in Dimapur, where the NSCN-IM leader was killed.

The decision to terminate the two officials came from the directives of the president of the NSCN-R which called upon for an “extraordinary emergency joint council meeting”.

Sources close to ministry of information and publicity of the NSCN-R informed that the two officials were found to be involved in the August 16 incident.

“Through the unanimous decision of the house, the office of the president, terminates (with immediate effect) both the erring officials, so as to let the law take its own course and to facilitate a ‘free and fair’ trail,” sources said.

The other personnel involved in the August 16 incident were from their party, hence the NSCN-R could not take any further action to them, it added.

“The NSCN-R also deeply regrets the incident that happened on August 16 which took away one precious life and our heart also goes out to the aggrieved family members. We have also taken action upon the NSCN (R) member involved in the incident, irrespective of rank, file or status but as according to the National Ahza and party discipline,” the sources added.
