Guwahati: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) is all set to host the 21st edition of its annual techno-management festival — Techniche — from August 29 to September 1 this year.
The three-day event will feature panel discussions, lecture series, management conference, robotics, corporate modules, tech expo, fun activities and cultural nights, among many others.
Some of the eminent personalities that will be a part of Techniche this year include senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Murli Manohar Joshi; Paul Arion, global head of layout, Double Negative); Pete Michels, animation director of Disney; former DRDO chairman VK Aatre; and Synchron CTO and founder Nicholas Opie.
Speaking at the press meet, Labanu K Konwar, assistant registrar of public relations, IITG, said, “Being a completely student-centric event, Techniche always tries to uplift the technological aspects in Northeast India and encourages students through its exciting events and competitions. It gives Northeast an eminence on a global standard.”
As part of a long tradition of Technicle, IITG organised the 11th edition of the Guwahati Half Marathon Sunday. The theme of the marathon this year was ‘Run for Clean and Safe Drinking Water’.
The institute will also organise workshops on the latest technologies at Techniche. From social media marketing to artificial intelligence, its workshops will give participants an opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience in their fields of interest.
