The earthquake occurred at 8.19 am on Monday

Kohima: An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit 132 km east of Tuensang in Nagaland on Monday morning. However, no casualties were reported due to the earthquake that occurred at 8.19 am.

The epicentre of the earthquake, as per the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), was in Myanmar.

The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) confirmed that the earthquake occurred at 08:19:15 IST with epicentre at 26.6 N latitude & 96.0 E longitude and depth of 80 km in Myanmar.

An officer on special duty (OSD) of NDMSA told EastMojo that there were no casualties. Light tremors are often felt in the area, the OSD added. There are also reports that parts of Dimapur also felt the tremors.
