Kokrajhar: A youth hailing from Kokrajhar district in Assam was arrested over some objectionable and derogatory comments as well as posting morphed photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah on social media on Wednesday.

A case has been registered at Fakiragram police station in this regard.

During investigation, corroborated by technical analysis, it was found that the accused, identified as Aziyar Rahman, had uploaded and shared such objectionable content/photos on his Facebook page.

A search operation was carried out by Kokrajhar police and, subsequently, Rahman was apprehended from Shakti Ashram market area in Fakiragram.

Upon interrogation, he admitted that he is the sole admin of the Facebook page and had uploaded as well as shared objectionable and derogatory content/photos on his timeline. He was brought to Fakiragram police station for detailed interrogation.

One MI Note 5 mobile handset, two SIM cards (one BSNL and one Reliance Jio) were recovered from his possession.
