Village locals helping in unloading relief items in Kaziranga, Assam Credit: Dimapur 24/7

Guwahati: After successfully hosting a charity concert that raised an amount of Rs 70,949 and other essential items from the citizens of Dimapur town, Nagaland-based Dimapur 24/7 distributed relief materials in three flood-affected villages of Kaziranga National Park in Assam.

The members of the popular Facebook and Instagram group purchased rice, grains and clothes from the funds raised and distributed it to 201 households in Bamungaon, Dhansirimukh Polashguri and Doksirigaon villages in the area.

While speaking with EastMojo, spokesperson of Dimapur 24/7 Allan Aley said, “We are extremely grateful to all the donors who have contributed in cash and kind. It is because of your contributions [that] Dimapur 24/7 is able to reach out to the needy people.”

Various officials from political parties, NGOs and various other groups were also present at the distribution programme and ushered in the team from Dimapur.

Relief materials were distributed to 201 households in the area

The charity concert, which was held in Dimapur on July 27, attracted a lot of locals who came forward and donated both cash and relief materials for the flood-affected victims of Assam.

After the completion of the distribution of items to the victims in Assam the treasurer of Dimapur 24/7, Hollen Yepthomi, said, “It has been an unforgettable experience. To help others without expecting anything is the greatest gift you can give to someone. Humanity truly crosses beyond borders and politics. With the people’s love and support we made the impossible possible.”
