Parikrama to highlight Arunachal’s raw beauty in new music video

Guwahati: Parikrama, a rock and roll band from the capital city of India, is all set to highlight the pristine beauty of Mechuka valley in Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh. The band, which was formed in the year 1991, recently shot its upcoming song, Tears of the Wizard, in the frontier state.

While having a brief chat with EastMojo, Subir Malik, the organist of the band, said: “Parikrama and the NE have an almost three-decade-old relationship. For us, there is no better place on this Earth than Northeast India. We just love the beauty and its beautiful people, we are at home.”

When asked about the beauty of the valley, Malik said, “Just absolutely out of this world, Mechukha is a different world.”

The scenic view of the valley accompanied with the snow-capped mountains captures a lot of attention from across the world and also hosts a lot of tourists all through the year.

The band is also looking forward to shoot more music videos in the Northeast region in the coming years and also praised the musicians of the region saying that the region has the most natural musicians in the country.

Parikrama released one of its hit songs in the year 1996, which was dedicated to the kidnappings in the Kashmir valley. The song was featured in the ‘25 greatest Indian rock songs of the last 25 years’ in 2014 by Rolling Stone India.

The six-piece band consists of Nitin Malik as the lead vocalist, Sonam Sherpa as the lead guitarist, Saurabh Choudhary as the backing guitarist, Subir Malik on the mouth-organ and synthesiser, Gaurav Balani as the bass guitarist and Srijan Mahajan on the drums. The band also features some session musicians according to the needs of its songs.
