Imphal: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will take up an investigation over the mysterious death case of Babysana, a 14-year-old schoolgirl who was found dead at her hostel in Manipur last week.
The announcement was made by chief minister N Biren Singh on Thursday following a 24-hour total shutdown in the state on Wednesday by a local joint action committee (JAC), paralysing normal life in most parts of the state. The JAC demanded the government to investigate the case and to award befitting punishment to the culprit(s).
