The meeting was supposed to be held at the conference hall of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council

Diphu: In response to the alleged irregularities in appointment of various categories at the department of environment and forests in Diphu, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has asked the special principal chief conservator of forests (SPCCF), Abhijit Rabha, to submit a report by July 22.

To discuss about the alleged irregularities in the appointment of grade III, IV and muster-roll workers under environment and forest department, the KAAC authorities organised a meeting in Diphu on Friday. However, the meeting was cancelled due to failure of Abhijit Rabha and other divisional forest officers (DFOs) to be present on the occasion.

“A meeting was held today regarding the illegal appointment in the forest department, but we couldn’t come to any conclusion as the SPCCF and other forest officials were absent in the meeting. I can’t say regarding the illegal appointment as we have not received report from the state forest department. We have asked the SPCCF to submit a detailed report regarding the matter by July 22,” Mahananda Hazarika, principal secretary, KAAC, said.
