Aizawl: People’s Representation for Identity and Status of Mizoram (PRISM), a newly floated political party on Monday, slammed the state budget for the fiscal 2019-2020 as the worst-ever budget in the state.
The state budget amounting to Rs 10,692 crore was presented by chief minister Zoramthanga, who also holds finance portfolio, on June 13.
PRISM president Vanlalruata said alleged that the government was shy of the budget for which even the finance department reluctant to release it in its official website. He said that the budget was prepared just for a show and that it was prepared in such a manner as to inadequately meet salaries, office maintenance and medical reimbursement for employees.

He said that supplementary demands for grants will be high when the new annual budget is presented next year.
Vanlalruata also said that Opposition members have to educate themselves about the budget. He alleged that non-Opposition members complaint about the budget during the assembly session.
In the annual state budget, the state government laid stress on the implementation of state’s flagship programme-Socio-Economic Development Programme (SEDP) and three new districts created by the MNF in 2018.
